UW-Madison lab employee arrested after investigators find chemical in office
MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The University of Wisconsin - Madison Police Department arrested an UW campus lab employee after responding to the campus research lab for a report of an unknown odor Friday, April 10.
Police say that they reported to the campus research lab after a report of an unknown order coming from the items in the office. The evidence was tested and turned out positive for the presence of a chemical.
Following an investigation and confession, 41-year-old lab employee Makoto Kuroda was arrested on the charges of second-degree reckless endangering of safety.
At this time CBS 58 doesn't know the kind of chemical investigators have found.
Kuroda was booked into the Dodge County Jail.
The incident appeared to be isolated and there is no threat to the public.
An investigation remains ongoing and additional charges may be added.
