Valentines for vets: Send a card to residents at Wisconsin veterans homes this season

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) -- For Valentine's Day this year, the Wisconsin Department of Veteran Affairs (WDVA) is asking for cards for veterans.

Last year, the WDVA received 24,000 valentines that were given out to Wisconsin veterans.

If you want to send some valentines, the WDVA asks they do not include any food or candy and that they are mailed by Jan. 31.

“Last year, the residents at our three Wisconsin Veterans Homes were thrilled to receive such an outpouring of Valentine’s Day wishes and thoughtful messages,” said Secretary-designee James Bond. “This year, I encourage everyone to consider sending a card to the former servicemembers and spouses living at Chippewa Falls, King, and Union Grove. It’s a fun way to bring joy to their day and let them know we appreciate their service to our country.”

Please send them to:

Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs
Attn: Veteran Valentines
PO Box 7843
Madison, WI 53707-7843

Valentines sent here will be distributed to veterans homes in Chippewa Falls, King and Union Grove.
