MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The beautiful Villa Terrace above Lake Michigan is turning 100, and to celebrate its history, a drone show will illuminate the sky Wednesday night.
Starting at 9 p.m. on July 10, 400 drones will take to the sky with a show so bright it can be seen from up to five miles away.
It's Milwaukee's largest drone show ever and will feature nearly 20 minutes of formations that highlight the beauty of the space and the art inside.
"Just unique designs, a lot of them pertaining to the villa, so a lot of the art you see there will be portrayed in its own new version, a drone show version here in the sky," said Matthew Sanker, the lead producer with Firefly Drone Shows.
The show itself is up to 400 feet tall, with a total width between 600 to 700 feet.
Piloted by just one person, officials said while some compare it to fireworks, this is a whole different kind of spectacle.
"It's so hard to give it justice over a TV screen or over a computer screen. Definitely come check it out and see it for yourself in real life. It's a lot of fun and it might just blow your mind," Sanker said.
The event is free to attend.
