VISIT Milwaukee donates 50K free masks to residents, available at Citgo stations across city
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- VISIT Milwaukee staff will deliver 50,000 masks to the 42 Citgo gas stations across Milwaukee on Monday, July 27.
It's part of the MaskUpMKE initiative, according to a news release, and in response to the new mask mandate requiring face masks for anyone over the age of three in the City of Milwaukee.
VISIT Milwaukee has partnered with the Metropolitan Milwaukee Association of Commerce (MMAC) and Citgo to ensure that residents have access to free masks.
The data tells us that wearing masks is vital to helping our tourism economy return while keeping our hospitality workers and all Milwaukee residents safe and healthy,” said Peggy Williams-Smith, president and CEO of VISIT Milwaukee. “We are excited to partner with the MMAC and CITGO on this initiative and do our part to get masks into the hands of every Milwaukeean.”
Residents in need of a mask can visit any Citgo station in Milwaukee and receive a mask on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.
