Step into a virtual reality at new Port Washington arcade
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A crew of volunteers from Wells Fargo teamed up with Habitat for Humanity Wednesday for construction of a new house.
This is a partnership between Habitat, Wells Fargo, Milwaukee County and others to create 80 new affordable homes. It's really a significant makeover of a Milwaukee neighborhood.
"People who own their homes, people who know where they're gonna be living in the next month and next year, create stability within the home, create stability within the neighborhood, and there simply have not been enough new single-family homes built in Milwaukee over, say, the last 20-30 years," said Lafayette Crump, commissioner of city development.
"It's really important to Milwaukee County, the Community Development Alliance, Wells Fargo and Habitat to stabilize the overall investment in the King Park neighborhood," said Teig Whaley-Smith, Community Development Alliance.
Wells Fargo has awarded $100,000 to Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity for this King Park project.
