Wanted Racine man accused of attacking mother of his child, fleeing with 3-month-old in car
KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A man wanted for multiple felony charges in Kenosha County has still not been arrested, and the district attorney is frustrated with the bond he's facing.
Twenty-one-year-old Keon Dewon Taylor faces multiple domestic abuse felony charges, including recklessly endangering safety and substantial battery, after allegedly beating the mother of his child before trying to run her over with a car back on Halloween.
According to a criminal complaint, Taylor was picked up by the woman after he got off work in Pleasant Prairie the night of Oct. 31.
The woman was driving with Taylor in the passenger seat and their 3-month-old daughter in the back seat when she pulled over; she told police Taylor was yelling at her.
The complaint says Taylor got out of the car, reached in through the passenger door into the front seat, grabbed the victim’s hair and dragged her out, while punching her in the face.
The victim told police she "feared for her life,” and that Taylor then got back into the car and drove off, forcing her to get out of the vehicle's way to avoid being hit.
When police arrived, the complaint says they found the victim sitting on a guard rail and bleeding from her face. They heard Taylor on the phone with the victim, saying, “I know I’m gone for the rest of my life,” and “You called the police on me and all, and I’m out on bond.”
Taylor is facing several misdemeanor charges in Racine County involving the same victim.
Court documents say he was released on bond back in September and issued a no contact order.
Kenosha County District Attorney Xavier Solis says his current bond is set at $2,500, so he could turn himself in, pay it, and then be released. He is currently considered a “flight risk.”
“It is a low cash bond with this type of case, especially when you are already on bond. So, if the individual does post bond, he’s already violated bond once, what makes you think he won’t violate bond once again? And then it puts the victim in danger, the fact that the individual then can go and look for her,” Solis said.
The 3-month-old girl was returned to the mother, but Taylor has yet to be arrested or turn himself in.
Anyone with information regarding Taylor's whereabouts is asked to contact the Kenosha County Sheriff's Department at 262-656-1234, or Kenosha Area Crime Stoppers at 262-656-7333.
