WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The West Allis Police Department (WAPD) is investigating a crash in the area of S. 73rd.St. and W. Greenfield Ave early Saturday morning, Jan. 10. 

According to WAPD Chief Robert Fletcher, the crash involved a man and a child. The child was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious injuries. 

The other driver involved in the crash cooperated with officers. 

Preliminary investigation shows that the crash was due to a failure to yield right away says Chief Fletcher. 

No criminal violation is apparent at this time.
