Warm Tuesday with sprinkles before getting cold with flurries Tuesday night
We are waking up to the clouds Tuesday morning and a few light rain showers and sprinkles have been falling in some communities. Most of the rain showers or sprinkles are done now with a mostly dry middle part of the day expected and even some peeks of sunshine. Then we get another chance for some precipitation, this time in the form of snow flakes, late Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning.
High temperatures on Tuesday will be very mild and reach the middle to upper 40s for most of the area. Some communities could make a run at 50! The flurry chance comes with a strong cold front which will drop the temp to chilly levels for the second half of the week with highs mostly in the 20s.
Any snow showers or flurries that we do get Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning could accumulate in some communities with a dusting of snow or a few tenths possible in isolated areas. Not everyone sees accumulating snow.
The snow will also blow around a little with wind gusts expected to stay up to 30 mph or even higher Tuesday, Tuesday night and Wednesday. After the cold front on Wednesday the wind will shift to the northwest bringing in the colder air. A lighter wind eventually returns for Thursday.
