Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Gravy
WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Country superstar Toby Keith, 62, passed away Monday night after a two-year battle with stomach cancer.
The country legend spent time in the Badger state headlining performances at Summerfest in 2003, 2007, and 2011.
Keith also filmed a music video in West Bend on a hometown farm for his hit single "Made in America."
"We thought we were going to meet Toby Keith, but he never actually came to the farm, but it was still pretty neat to have the film crew and doing a music video on the farm," said Steve Ihlenfeld, son of Mary and Bob Ihlenfeld, who own the Ihlenfeld farm.
The Ihlenfelds' farm proved to be prime real estate for the music video.
"We've got a very big, white farmhouse with a white porch, and they were looking for kind of that typical farmhouse," said Mary Ihlenfeld.
Keith, who busted into the county music scene in 1993 with his hit single, "I Should've been a Cowboy," died Monday.
"It'll be a loss for I'm sure all of the country music, and for the United States, really," said Mary Ihlenfeld.
Keith sold nearly 40 million albums during his career.
