The City of South Milwaukee experienced a break in one of the City’s 20” water mains around 6 a.m. today, affecting a school and residents in the area. The break occurred in a feeder main along Michigan Avenue between 8th and 9th, flooding streets and reducing water pressure. According to our reporter on scene, City crews are working to isolate the break and repair the main. On its website, the City of South Milwaukee is asking residents to reduce their water usage until the main is repaired. One private school, Zion Lutheran School and Daycare is closed today because of the water main break. The closure affects about 150 students.
