Located: 63-year-old Town of Merton man found safe

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. -- The search for a missing Town of Merton man has been canceled. Authorities say 63-year-old Joseph Lunowa was found safe.

WAUKESHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Waukesha County authorities are asking for the public's help to find a missing 63-year-old man. Officials say Joseph (Joe) Lunowa left on foot from his home in the Town of Merton around 7 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, and hasn't been heard form since. 

Officials say Lunowa suffers from cognitive disabilities and he left home without a cellphone. He does not drive. 

Authorities describe Lunowa as a white male, standing 5'7" tall, weighing 150 pounds and wears glasses. Officials believe he may be wearing a green windbreaker or a leather Green Bay Packers jacket and a Packers or Badgers hat.

Lunowa takes medication but it's unknown if he has them with him.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office, Lunowa is not believed to be suicidal or pose any threat to the community, however he likes to hide and is likely to avoid people.

Citizens who live in the area are asked to check their properties and any garages or out-buildings that may provide shelter.
