Waukesha fire near Arcadian and Oakland leaves 1 dead

UPDATE: The Waukesha Fire Department announced in a release on Wednesday, Dec. 6, that one person has died due to a fire on Thanksgiving. 

Thomas Buffone passed away at St. Mary's Burn Center on Thursday, Nov. 30, which was likely due to the result of his injuries, the Waukesha Fire Department said. 

The City of Waukesha Fire Prevention Bureau determined the fire's area of origin was a computer workstation in the dining room of the residence. They said the cause of the fire was likely an unattended candle or overloaded electrical outlet. 


WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- According to the Waukesha Fire Department, one person was rescued from a fire on Thursday, Nov. 23.

The fire happened near Arcadian and Oakland around 4:30 p.m. The fire department said in a press release that one person was rescued from the second floor of the apartment and was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. No other injuries were reported. 

The estimated damage from the fire is around $50,000.
