Federal jury finds 34-year-old Waukesha man found guilty of sex trafficking

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A jury found 34-year-old Cornelius Jackson of Waukesha guilty of all counts he was charged with on Wednesday, Nov. 15, according to the US Attorney's Office Eastern District of Wisconsin, in a release.

The counts included four counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and conspiracy to engage in sex trafficking.

According to the release, evidence at the trial showed that Jackson used force, threats, fraud, and coercion to compel female victims to engage in commercial sex acts in cities and states across the county, including Waukesha, Green Bay, Milwaukee, Minnesota, North Dakota, and Ohio, between 2014 and 2020.

According to the release, evidence showed that Jackson recruited his victims through dating apps and social media. The victims all testified that Jackson kept and controlled all of the money they made, using the violence to ensure that they continued to comply with his demands. The victims also testified that Jackson strangled them, and they each saw him strangle other victims, the release said.

Jackson faces a maximum sentence of life in prison and mandatory minimum of 15 years in prison. Jackson will be registered as a sex offender for life, according to the release.

The case was investigated by multiple agencies such as the FBI, the Wisconsin Department of Justice, the Division of Criminal Investigation. These agencies received assistance from local agencies, such as the Waukesha Police Department, the Milwaukee Police Department, the Ashwaubenon Public Safety Department, and the Oneida Police Department.
