Milwaukee’s Museum of Beer and Brewing is now open
WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- No matter what the temperature is outside, MetalTek employee, Kyle Trongeau, spends his day in the heat.
Trongeau melts metal hardware and turns it into something new. It's an intense job, but it's something he says is necessary.
"Every part we make is life critical," Trongeau said.
Trongeau says it's also critical to give back. Earlier this year, he donated money from his paycheck to MetalTek's campaign with United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County.
“Everyone needs a little help now and then. No one wants to ask, but as long as someone’s willing to support, I think everything’s going to be better in the world," said Trongeau.
For 28 years, MetalTek has partnered with United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County to raise money for local community needs. Since then, it's raised $5 million.
It may be the season of giving, but for Trongeau, it's also become the season of surprises.
Trongeau's donation earned him a trip to a Brewers Spring Training camp game in Maryvale, Arizona. Along with two tickets to the game, he'll get $1,000 for travel, a gift bag, and a customized jersey.
"I'm excited. I think the last game I was at -- I was in the Boy Scouts. Quite a few years ago," said Trongeau.
For Trongeau, this day has been nothing short of a home run.
