Waukesha West High School evacuated following threat

WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Waukesha West High School was evacuated Friday, Dec. 3, following an online threat. 

An alert was sent out saying the Waukesha West High school principal received an email about a specific threat to students during lunch. 

Waukesha police were contacted and the school was put in a "hold" designation where staff and students remained in classrooms and conducted business as usual. 

Due to the threat, Waukesha police evacuated all students from the school and classes were canceled for the day. 

Students who drive will be released first and allowed to get their keys from their lockers and drive home. 

Students who are bus riders will take the bus home per usual. 

Parents looking to pick up students can do so at St. John Neumann Catholic Church located at 2400 WI-59, Waukesha, WI 53189. 

Classes are scheduled to resume Monday, Nov. 6.
