WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Wauwatosa police officers were involved in a deadly shooting in the parking lot of Mayfair Mall Sunday night.
Police say mall security reported a group disturbance, involving about 10 people, just before 5:45 p.m.
At least one witness told officers one of the people in the group had a gun.
Soon after, officers found the group outside the mall and say at least four of the people ran away, sparking a chase through the parking lot.
Investigators say one of the men matched the witnesses description of the person having a handgun, and a gun was found at the scene.
During the chase, a Wauwatosa officer shot the man with his service weapon.
The man died at the hospital.
The officers involved have not been named but are currently on administrative leave, per department protocol.
Police are asking for any witnesses to come forward.
