MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - The rain on Saturday morning, July 19, did not spoil the fun in Milwaukee on a classic summer day.
The rain cleared out just in time for the Milwaukee Air Show, which featured six blue angels and other military jets.
Lt. Lanika Van is with the US Navy and came back home from San Diego for the air show.
“I’m actually from Milwaukee so it’s amazing being back home on a lovely sunny day,” Van said. “The rain was kind of a debbie downer but after it cleared it was amazing.”
Next up was the 91st Croatian Fest in Franklin.
“It’s an incredible event,” Federation of Croatian Societies President Tom Kuzmanovic said. “I have not seen this many people here in years.”
The day wrapped up with Bastille Days, where vendors were keeping a close eye on the chances for rain.
“We’ve encountered all kinds of weather and it’s actually been really scary sometimes,” vendor Christine Beramendi said. “We’re constantly checking the forecast so it’s a major factor for us.”
