MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Kathy's House, a hospital guest home, is lifting up sprits during the holiday season with a Thanksgiving celebration.
"We are celebrating thanksgiving just like if our patients were at home," said Nikki Panico who is on the board of directors for Kathy's house.
Panico said they aim for their guest to feel like the house is their home away from home.
For patient Demetrius Sims and his family, this gesture goes a long way.
"It just goes to show like how above and beyond they try to go for the small community of people that's in here," said Sims.
About six volunteers fixed thanksgiving plates for about 40 guests.
"Today we don't want just to provide a thanksgiving meal, but we want to provide support and hope and gratitude," said Panico.
