West Allis celebrates outdoor Fitness Court facility with ribbon-cutting celebration 🏋️‍♀️

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (CBS 58) -- West Allis marked the relaunch of the Fitness Court at Veterans Memorial Park with a ribbon-cutting event on Tuesday, July 18. This facility, an outdoor hub of wellness activities, reopened its doors after its original launch in fall 2019.

The special celebration celebrated West Allis as the inaugural partner of the Quartz statewide wellness campaign. The Fitness Court, stationed at the intersection of 70th and W. National, caters to over 21,000 residents within walking or cycling distance.

The relaunched facility offers an outdoor gym equipped with seven exercise stations, designed for people aged 14 and over of all abilities.

Participants can choose their pace, making workouts adaptable to diverse fitness levels. The Fitness Court App offers even more enhancement, intending to help transform the outdoor gym into a digital wellness platform.

The event was graced by members of the West Allis Fire Department and Milwaukee Brewers Famous Racing Sausages, who participated in a relay challenge with Fitness Court Ambassadors.

To commemorate the relaunch, a community class named "Introduction to the Fitness Court" was offered, demonstrating the facilities and programs available to residents.
