West Bend man arrested for OWI after officers locate car fully engulfed in flames

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 37-year-old man has been arrested for an OWI after an incident on Friday.

Police were called to a car fire in a vacant lot in the 100 block of Rusco Drive around 8 p.m.

When officers arrived, the vehicle was fully engulfed in flames. The driver, a 37-year-old West Bend man, told officers that he had been "off roading" when he drove over a rock and the vehicle started on fire. 

The man showed signs of intoxication, admitted to drinking alcohol before he drove to the lot, and failed the Standard Field Sobriety Tests.

The man was not injured in the collision. He was arrested for an OWI.
