West Bend Police: 16-year-old stabs mother after fight over tablet

WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 16-year-old is facing charges of Attempted First Degree Intentional Homicide after stabbing his mother during a fight over a tablet.

West Bend Police responded to a home on Sunday evening after a woman called police to report that her 16-year-old son attacked her and stabbed her several times.

Upon arrival, police discovered that the woman had been stabbed several times in both of her hands. The woman told police that she was stabbed while holding her hands in front of her while her son attempted to stab her in the face and head.

The woman told police that she had verbally disciplined her son earlier over his use of his tablet.

The 16-year-old allegedly used a homemade sharpened object to stab his mother.

The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The 16-year-old remains in custody.
