Winter Realms closes for the season due to warm winter temperatures
LAKE GENEVA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Winter Realms, formerly known as Ice Castles, in Lake Geneva announced on Thursday, Feb. 8, that they would be closing for the season due to warm winter temperatures.
The warm winter delayed the Winter Realms opening until Jan. 26. They said despite the short season, thousands came out to enjoy the Winter Realms.
“I am incredibly proud of our crew and their determination to build a spectacular event with all the hurdles Mother Nature has thrown at us this year,” said Ice Castles CEO Kyle Standifird in a release.
"We hoped to stay open longer with our new event Winter Realms. We are taking our learnings from this season as we plan for 2025," said Standifird.
They said guests who had tickets for this weekend have been notified and will be fully refunded.
