MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Wisconsin football team feels they have the fix for their ailing offense. The Badgers are bringing Jeff Grimes onboard as new Offensive Coordinator, officially announced by the university on Wednesday, Dec. 11.

Grimes previously spent time on the coaching staffs at Kansas, Baylor and BYU. He has been named as a finalist for the Frank Broyles Award in 2020 and 2021, designated for the nation's top assistant coach.

In the school's statement, Grimes said, "Having been around college football for more than 30 years, I have long admired the history and tradition at Wisconsin, and in particular the blue-collar, tough foundation that has led them to sustained success. I’m excited to blend that physical approach with an offense that attacks in a variety of ways."

With Grimes at the helm of the Kansas offense this season, the offensive ranked 12th in the nation with 212.1 rushing yards per game and 7th in the nation at 14.2 yards per completion in the passing game.
