MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Wisconsin DMV customer service centers will stay open until 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10 and Tuesday, Aug. 11 for people who need an ID to vote in Tuesday’s primary election.

Wisconsin citizens can get an ID card for voting purposes free of charge.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation Division of Motor Vehicles said in a Monday press release that the extended hours are intended to help people who do not already have a Wisconsin driver license, ID or other identification accepted at the polls.

The DMV said people should bring any available documentation and complete two forms. A temporary photo ID document can be sent by overnight mail and used at the polls. Voters may also be able to cast a provisional ballot until their photo ID arrives.
