MONROE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A Wisconsin dog is heading to New York to compete in the Westminster Dog Show.
"Panda," a 2-year-old St. Bernard, was bred in Monroe County to a family who owns eight St. Bernards.
Only the top five dogs, per breed, are invited to compete in what's known as the Super Bowl of dog shows.
While Panda didn't get an invite this year, his owners were able to enter him into the competition thanks to their big support system.
"It means a lot, there's a lot of hard work and traveling and dedication that goes into it, there's a lot of family time missed because I'm on the road so much but luckily we have a really great support system," said Stacy Pagel, Panda's owner and handler.
Panda's owner says he's already traveled all over the country winning a variety of awards including multiple "best in shows."
The St. Bernard will travel to New York for the Westminster Dog Show later this month.
