Wisconsin hunters kill more deer on opening weekend compared to 2017

WISCONSIN (CBS 58) – Hunters killed thousands of more deer during the opening weekend of the gun-deer hunt compared to last year, despite a drop in the number of deer license sold.

The DNR says hunters killed more than 18,000 deer, up nearly 13% from last year when just over 105,000 deer were killed during opening weekend.

The DNR says the number of deer licenses sold so far this season is down 2.5% from last year.
