GLENDALE, Wis. (CBS 58) --- Local nonprofit Wisconsin Voices hosted its annual fundraising gala on Friday, Feb. 17.
This year's theme was "Be a Voice."
This is the 2nd year the organization has hosted the event, inviting its partners to celebrate the work they do in the community.
Wisconsin Voices works with dozens of partners across the state. The nonprofit operates with the goal of protecting democracy, teaching advocacy, and building community. Friday's gala was held at the Bavarian Bierhaus in Glendale.
Awards were given out to several of the organizations partners for the work they do in the community.
The award for Protecting Democracy went to Building Unity, while the Community Building award went to Ann Griffin and The Village Group. Community Brainstorming was recognized for the Teaching Advocacy award and Vaun Mayes was honored as Community Hero.
