MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- For just the fifth time in history (1938, 1944, 1950, 2016) Milwaukee hit 77 degrees in the month of November on Thursday, giving many people a reason to get outside and enjoy what could be one of the last warm days of 2022.

"Come March and April, when it's still snowing and cold, you're thinking about this kind of weather," said Beth Phillips, who was watching for along the Lake Michigan shoreline. "I told my friend in North Dakota who's having a blizzard today that I'm in short sleeves and it's 70 degrees here."

From the lakefront to the tennis courts and everywhere in between, people were out and about taking in all Mother Nature had to offer, including Mike Brady and Ken Schmidt, who embarked on an over 25-mile bike ride all around the city.

"You'd be crazy to think we would have weather like this (in November) but it is fabulous," Schmidt said, waiting for his lunch outside of a food truck in Walker's Point. "We've just had a great time today."

While the sunshine brought out a lot of good spirits, those enjoying it know the unseasonably warm day is just that. They're starting to brace themselves for whatever Mother Nature has in store the next several months.

"I'm realistic. I mean, it's coming," said Judy Connon, talking about the snow and frigid temperatures. "I'm just walking the beach. You just can't help yourself, coming to the lake on a beautiful November day."

"The world is our home, and you enjoy the world year-round," Schmidt added. "Sitting inside's no fun."
