MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A mother accused of lying to doctors about her daughter's health is headed for trial in Milwaukee.
Alisha Newman, 35, appeared at her preliminary hearing. Police say Newman had doctors in six states perform unnecessary tests, procedures, and surgeries on her 10-year-old daughter.
At Friday's hearing, the defense argued unsuccessfully to have the abuse charges dismissed. Though they were adjusted, Newman pleaded not guilty.
Her next court appearance is July 10.
