MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An 18-year-old woman has been charged following a chaotic incident on Brady Street that left a Milwaukee police officer injured on Saturday, Oct. 27 near Humboldt and Brady amid reports of unrest involving large crowds in the popular nightlife area.

According to a criminal complaint issued in Milwaukee County Circuit Court, officers saw 18-year-old Dantiyana Johnson of Milwaukee driving erratically and colliding with another car in the intersection. When an officer approached and instructed her to stop and put the vehicle in park, she reportedly refused, stating she "did nothing wrong."

As the officer attempted to remove her from the vehicle, the complaint states that Johnson reversed approximately 10 to 15 feet. The officer was forced to run backward to avoid being struck by the open driver’s door, narrowly escaping what an officer describes as a potentially serious injury.

The officer sustained swelling, bruising and pain to his right hand during the incident.

Johnson was reportedly pulled from the vehicle and arrested, but her unmanned car continued to roll and struck a nearby building. She initially provided a false name and date of birth but was later identified through fingerprinting, according to police.

She is charged with second-degree recklessly endangering safety and obstructing an officer.

The Milwaukee Police Department say they are continuing their investigation into the events on Brady Street during a weekend when bar owners and residents reported increased disorder in the area.

Videos on social media showed groups climbing on a fire truck and engaging in altercations using patio furniture.
