Woman killed in single vehicle crash in Washington County

A woman is dead after a single vehicle crash in Washington County overnight.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to Donegal Road west of Highway K in the town of Erin around 2:00 AM Sunday.

Officials said that evidence indicates that a car was going westbound when it completely left the paved roadway and struck a tree head on.

A 38-year-old woman died at the scene as a result of the crash. A 38-year-old man was critically injured and taken by Flight for Life to Summit Hospital in Oconomowoc.

The crash remains under investigation, but officials believe that alcohol, speed and lack of seat belts were contributing factors.

This is the first traffic fatality in Washington County this year.
