A 26-year-old woman from Kenosha was stabbed by an acquaintance at a Racine bar on New Year's Day after an argument. Police say the victim had to be treated for serious injuries.

Police say the incident occurred just before 8 a.m. in an apartment parking lot in Mount Pleasant on New Year's Day.

The incident occurred on Jan. 1, but the suspect was not located until Jan. 5 when police located Melissa Bernal at a Mount Pleasant laundromat.

Police arrested Bernal, a 30-year-old woman from Mount Pleasant. Charges will be forwarded to the Racine County District Attorney's office for 1st-Degree Reckless Injury.
