Woodruff strikes out 10, helps Brewers power past Phillies 9-1

Brandon Woodruff was the Milwaukee Brewers' hero Sunday, striking out 10 batters, while giving up just one hit. Woodruff also had two RBIs on offense in the Brewers' 9-1 win over the Philadelphia Phillies Sunday at Miller Park.

Woodruff kept the Phillies without a hit until the sixth inning when he gave up a solo home run to catcher Andrew Knapp.

The Brewers provided plenty of offense on Sunday. They hit a total of five home runs, with Ben Gamel hitting two of those homers.

Woodruff's eight full innings gave the Brewers' bullpen plenty of rest. Matt Albers pitched a scoreless ninth inning to secure the victory for the Brewers.

The Brewers are now 30-24. The team travels to Minnesota to take on the Twins on Memorial Day at 6:10 p.m.
