      MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee police officer was killed after an MPD squad car rolled over near 76th and Silver Spring on Thursday afternoon.

      Police held a processional the officer, identified as 23-year-old Charles Irvine Jr. of District Four. 



      Other local law enforcement agencies offered their condolences to the Milwaukee Police Department and the officer's family. 

      Milwaukee County Sheriff Richard Schmidt said:


      “I am extremely saddened to learn of the loss of our fellow officer. This officer gave his life protecting the lives of Milwaukee’s citizens. Our thoughts and prayers are with the officer and his family as we mourn this horrific loss.”
