128th Air Refueling Wing

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – The 128th Air Refueling Wing hosted its second annual Refuel Resilience Suicide Prevention Walk on Friday, Sept. 26 in Milwaukee.

The walk was held to raise awareness about suicide prevention and to promote mental health and resilience among Airmen, local first responders and post-9/11 veterans.

People who attended had the chance to walk on base grounds, visit booths with information on crisis intervention and mental health services and connect with support networks. To close the afternoon off, a "burger burn" meal was served to encourage continued conversations in a relaxed setting.

Organizers said the walk aims to strengthen bonds within the unit and with the broader community while highlighting resources available to those who serve.

The event ran from 8:15 a.m. to noon at the 128th Air Refueling Wing.
