2 Milwaukee charter schools announce plans to combine; fall launch expected

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Two Milwaukee charter schools announced plans Tuesday, to combine into one school.

Back in 2022, CBS 58 was at the groundbreaking for the new Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy in the Bronzeville neighborhood.

We learned Tuesday that the Fuller Academy will merge with the Milwaukee Excellence Charter School.

The combined schools will keep the Fuller Academy name and offer space for 850 students, 6th through 8th grade.

High school students will attend the school that's still under construction.

Middle school students will attend classes at the Fuller Academy's current building near 29th and Capitol.

The combined school is expected to launch this fall.
