Meet CBS 58’s Pet of the Week: Gravy
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- UW-Milwaukee just received its largest gift ever -- $20 million.
It's from the Zilber Family Foundation to support public health education in Wisconsin at the Zilbur College of Public Health.
College officials say this $20 million is a transformative amount of money that will go a long way in recruiting and keeping critical faculty at the college long-term and training the next generation of public health leaders in Wisconsin.
"I see three immediate impacts of this landmark gift to the lives of our students and faculty, and subsequently public health in Wisconsin and beyond," said Amy Harley, interim dean at Zilbur College of Public Health. "This gift will allow us to continue to offer that accessible graduate education at the only accredited college of public health in the state."
College officials say this will also support their mission of promoting equitable outcomes via scholarships for low-income students.
