Assisted living community in New Berlin closing down, leaving residents less than 60 days to vacate

NEW BERLIN, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The ProHealth Regency Senior Community in New Berlin is closing on June 30, leaving residents in around 63 assisted living units less than 60 days to vacate.
Susen Rasmussen, MBA, strategic communications director for ProHealth stated that the renovations required to continue operating the units were not attainable.
Current residents being affected by this change have the option to transfer into the other Regency locations in Brookfield and Muskego.
They can also move to other local assisted living units managed by Capri Communities - the company that operates all three Regency locations.
The impacted units are located on the east side of the campus, off of National Ave. in a facility that was once known as New Berlin Memorial Hospital.
The ProHealth Regency staff will continue to assist all residents through this transition. About 24 staff members will be impacted by this closure and have been encouraged to apply for other open positions at other Capri-managed locations.
