25-year-old Union Grove man killed in Caledonia crash after running stop sign

CALEDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) — A 25-year-old Union Grove man was killed Wednesday night after investigators say he failed to stop at a stop sign in Caledonia.

According to the Caledonia Police Department, officers responded to the intersection of County Highway V and County Highway K around 10:45 p.m. for a two-vehicle crash.

A preliminary investigation found the 25-year-old was traveling north on County Highway V and did not stop at the intersection before entering the path of an eastbound vehicle on County Highway K.

The second vehicle, driven by a 32-year-old woman from Racine, struck the man's vehicle. The Union Grove man was pronounced dead at the scene by the medical examiner.

The woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The Wisconsin State Patrol Technical Reconstruction Unit assisted with the investigation.
