25th annual 'Ride on the Wild Side Bike Ride' held at Milwaukee County Zoo
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Animal lovers got to check out the Milwaukee County Zoo on two wheels.
Visitors could ride their bikes inside the zoo on Sunday during the 'Ride on the Wild Side Bike Ride.'
The event helps raise money for the Zoological Society of Milwaukee.
There was a 2.5 mile kids' ride inside the zoo.
There were also 10, 17, and 27-mile rides that started and ended in the zoo. They went through the Menomonee River Parkway along the Oak Leaf Bike Trail.
"We also support the zoo, so we do a lot of fundraising for the zoo, so they can concentrate on things like the animals," said Katie Krecklow with the Milwaukee Zoological Society. "The Zoological Society also offers discounts if you have a zoo pass, we also sell the zoo pass to help raise money."
This was the 25th annual Ride on the Wild Side event.
Last year, it raised over $30,000 for the Zoological Society.
