MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- An investigation is underway after a 27-year-old man died in Milwaukee police custody.
Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman said during a traffic stop near 16th and Lapham Wednesday, Dec. 8, a 27-year-old man was taken into custody.
Chief Norman said the man was in need of medical attention; police believed he had previously taken a controlled substance.
The man was taken to a hospital for medical care and then taken back into custody. While at Milwaukee Police Department District 2, he had an additional medical emergency and was conveyed to a local hospital for treatment where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.
