MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- We are closing in on the end of Hispanic Heritage Month, and over at City Hall, they're looking to make sure the annual celebration of Hispanic achievement and culture ends on the right note.
Earlier Tuesday night, officials hosted the second annual Hispanic Heritage Month Power Hour. The networking event looks to build a bridge between Hispanic workers and the opportunities available across Milwaukee.
It's an effort to not only connect people to those opportunities, but to boost the Latino workforce in Milwaukee.
"We need to increase our Latino workforce in the city," said Alder JoCasta Zamarripa. "It's our opportunity, as the city of Milwaukee, to show Latino Milwaukeeans that this is not only a great place to live, but to work, too."
Events like these are part of a regular series of networking workshops hosted by the city. If you weren't able to make it Tuesday night, there will be more opportunities in the near future.
