3 rescued, 1 person taken to the hospital after early morning fire near 24th and Maple

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Milwaukee Fire Department is investing a fire that took place on Sept. 25, around 1:30 a.m. near 24th and Maple. 

Upon arrival, fire officials found the two-and-a-half story home with smoke and fire showing from the basement. They also found three people trapped on the second story balcony.

A ladder was put up to that balcony to rescue the three trapped people. One patient was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. 

Multiple animals were also found and brought out of the home. 

The Red Cross was contacted to assist all occupants that were displaced.

The Milwaukee Police Department along with the fire investigative unit were called out to the scene to search for the cause and determination of the fire.
