31-year-old motorcyclist dead after hit-and-run near 1st and Walker

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened on Saturday, July 27. 

It happened around 6:40 p.m. near 1st and Walker. 

Police say the suspect vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and struck a motorcycle. The suspect's vehicle was disabled on scene and the suspects fled on foot. 

The 31-year-old operator of the motorcycle was transported to a hospital where the motorcyclist was pronounced deceased. 

Milwaukee police say minutes before the accident, officers were flagged down near West Viriginia and 3rd, for an entry to auto complaint where the suspect vehicle was observed by officers. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however, the suspect auto fled, and officers did not pursue.
