35-year-old man dies after being shot inside vehicle near Fond du Lac and Hampton

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A 35-year-old was fatally shot near Fond du Lac and Hampton Avenues on Wednesday, Nov. 27. 

He was identified by the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office Friday as Cameron Smith.

According to Milwaukee police, a suspect approached the victim's vehicle and fired shots, subsequently striking the victim. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment where he later died. 

The suspect, a 48-year-old man, was taken into custody. 

Officials say the shooting was the result of a dispute. 

Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office.
