57-year-old pedestrian dies after being hit by vehicle in Caledonia

CALEDONIA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 57-year-old Burlington man died Thursday, Feb. 5 after being hit by a vehicle in Caledonia, according to police.

Caledonia police and fire responded at around 7:09 p.m. to Douglas and Scott's Way for a report of a pedestrian having been struck by a vehicle. A maroon Dodge minivan was traveling southbound on Douglas when it struck a pedestrian who may have been trying to cross the road, according to police.

Officers and emergency personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the pedestrian died at the scene.

The driver, a 68-year-old Racine man who was the sole occupant of the minivan, cooperated with officers and investigators, according to police.
