High temperatures have been cool to start this week. We've had three straight days with highs in the 60s which is the coolest streak of temps since the middle of June. Thursday will be close to 70* but some hometowns may stay in the 60s. Friday is our only above-average day this week in the upper 70s then we drop to very comfy and pleasant low 70s for the weekend and start of next week.
If you like the cooler temps, enjoy them because another warm up is looking likely. By the middle of next week we might be back in the upper 70s to around 80 and those warmer temps look to last. The latest 8-14 day temp trend which takes us into the last few days of Summer and first few days of Autumn has a 60-70% chance for above average highs. The average high that time of year is in the low 70s so upper 70s and some low 80s look possible.
Here's a fun statistic we like to discuss this time of year. Temps typically drop fast around this time of year as we go into the winter months and as a result Milwaukee has never reached 100* in September, 90* in October, 80* in November or 70* in December!
Download the CBS 58 Ready Weather app to track the temps for the end of summer and beginning of winter.
