CBS 58 GREENFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The placement of a Greenfield man charged with homicide is now up to the state Department of Health Services.
Amando Lang was charged with killing a Madison man, Ben Christianson, in a brutal and random attack in 2019. He was found incompetent to stand trial and landed back in court last year when he was found living in a non-secured group home in Greenfield after being released by mistake.
In a court hearing Thursday, Jan. 22, a judge found Lang not guilty by mental disease or defect and ordered Lang be committed to the Department of Health Services for life.
A permanent placement has not yet been chosen, according to court records.
