MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee mother is still looking for answers seven years after her son was shot and killed on Milwaukee’s west side.
"A mother is not supposed to bury her child, her child is supposed to bury her," said Shannon Allen.
Allen's son, 27-year-old DeAndre Allen, was shot and killed in 2016 on Dec. 26 near 39th and W. Michigan.
"I come here every year because that’s another year that my son is gone and I still don’t have justice," said Allen.
Allen said her son was picked up at a barbershop by people he knew. She said they brought him to Valley Park neighborhood, and shortly after, two people shot him 11 times.
"So-called friends played a part in his death, but that’s because he trusted everyone, he had a love for everybody," said Allen.
Allen said her son was the life of the party.
"Everybody that he encountered with, they were family, he embraced everyone," said Allen.
Now, Allen is still on a mission for answers, holding a balloon release on the day of her son's death yet again to keep her son's memory alive.
"Just to get some closure for myself and for my family, so we can have some type of peace, because I know where DeAndre is, I just don’t know who did it and why," said Allen.
Milwaukee police say they are still investigating the killing of DeAndre Allen. Anyone with information is asked to contact MPD.
