Evening Update:

The snow is coming down, basically dumping across the area.  Visibility in spots has been under a mile.  This particular band could drop 1" to 1.5" an hour.

With temperatures in the 20s the roads are snow covered.  Snow this evening into Saturday morning will total between 3" to 4".

After a light break Saturday morning, more steady snow is forecast to move back in during the afternoon and evening.  Another 1" to 3" is possible during the day Saturday.

As the system departs, the back edge will roll through and linger snow showers into Sunday.  Another 1" to 3" is possible by Sunday afternoon.  Most totals will range between 5" to 8" over the next several days.

Afternoon Update: Snow is looking to kick off right as the Advisory gets underway at 6pm across western spots and arriving to the lakefront by 7pm. A solid swath of 3-6" is likely Friday night into very early on Saturday. Signs are showing increasing chances for lingering snow Saturday and Sunday. That means a few more inches of snow may accumulate during the rest of the weekend. Once again a northeast wind takes shape on Saturday into early Sunday that could lead to more snow accumulating lakeside.

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58)--Hope you enjoyed the 4 to 7 inch snowstorm we had the other day because another one is coming for the weekend. It all starts Friday evening when a Winter Weather Advisory goes into effect.  It lasts through Saturday at 6 a.m. but not before giving us at 2 to 4 inches of snow.  We could see that much more for the rest of the weekend.  I think the snow is most intense Friday evening into early Saturday.  Please be careful on the roads Friday evening.  It's a big night on the town for so many.  Behind the snow, you might ask, a blast of very cold air.  Highs only in the single digits and teens for most of next week.  At least it'll be dry though.

Total amounts through Saturday (add a bit more for Sunday, especially lakeside)

A progression of the snow...

Friday and Saturday look fairly seasonable but much colder into next week...
